Ingredients
- 2 teaspoons whole cumin seeds
- 1 bay leaf
- 2 cups basmati rice
- 4 tablespoons ghee, melted or 4 tablespoons butter, melted
- 2 tablespoons whole milk Greek yogurt

Toast cumin seeds
- In mixing bowl, combine cumin and bay leaf with 1 teaspoon oil.
- Spread evenly across Zone 2 of Brava metal tray.
- Slide metal tray into top shelf.
- Select “Cumin Rice” on your Brava’s touchscreen.
- Press green button to continue cooking.
- Note: You will remove spices after 45 seconds.

Prep rice
- When Brava notifies you, carefully remove metal tray and return cumin and bay leaf to mixing bowl.
- Rinse rice in a fine mesh strainer until water runs clear. This should take about 2-3 minutes. Drain rice.
- In mixing bowl containing cumin and bay, stir together rice, ghee, yogurt and 1 ½ teaspoons salt.
- Pour mixture into Brava Chef’s Pan; spread out evenly.
- Add 2¼ cups water to Chef’s Pan. Stir gently, making sure all rice grains are submerged.
- Cover Chef’s Pan with lid.

Cook rice
- Slide Chef’s Pan, covered, into top shelf.
- Press green button to continue cooking.

Finish & serve
- Carefully remove Chef’s Pan from Brava.
- Fluff rice with fork and serve.
