These lentils are the perfect healthy meal. They are flavored with red onion, garlic, tomato paste and dried thyme. You could easily use some cumin and/or coriander instead of thyme here for a different flavor profile. I enjoy eating this with some toast or crusty bread!


1/2 red onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
2 tablespoons tomato paste
1 cup green lentils
2 cups chicken stock, vegetable stock or water
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
1 tablespoon lemon juice


1. Combine red onion, garlic and tomato paste in Chef's Pan. Evenly distribute mixture alongside bottom of pan.
2. Place, uncovered, into top oven shelf. Press green button to begin cook.
3. While the onion and garlic cook, rinse lentils in fine-mesh strainer under running water. Drain well.
4. When the Brava notifies you, carefully remove Chef's Pan.
5. Add lentils, chicken stock, dried thyme, as well as a couple pinches of kosher salt and black pepper to Chef's Pan. Combine.
6. Cover Chef's Pan and slide into top oven shelf. Press green button to continue cooking.
7. Once the cook is completed, carefully remove Chef's Pan from Brava and add lemon juice to lentils. Combine.
8. Place lentils in serving bowl. Enjoy!
