About this Recipe

These stuffed peppers are full of classic Italian flavors. Ground beef and rice are combined with tomatoes, Italian herbs, parmesan and Mozzarella cheeses for a delicious twist. If you don’t have any ground beef on hand, feel free to use any ground meat instead (i.e. ground turkey, ground pork, etc.).

Ingredients

  • 6.0 count bell peppers
  • 1.0 pounds lean ground beef
  • 1.0 count yellow onion, diced (about 2 cups)
  • 3.0 count cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 2.0 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1.0 count 14.5oz can diced tomatoes
  • 1.0 cups cooked white rice
  • 0.25 cups grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2.0 tablespoons basil, chopped
  • 2.0 tablespoons Italian parsley, chopped
  • 1.0 teaspoons dried oregano
  • 1.0 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • kosher salt and black pepper
  • 0.5 cups water
  • Olive oil

Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare bell peppers

    • Cut top ½”-1” off of each bell pepper so that it fits easily in Brava Chef’s Pan (ProTip: peppers should not be more than ½” taller than the top of Chef’s Pan).
    • Carefully remove any seeds.
    • Place bell peppers, cut side up, in Chef’s Pan. Set aside.

    Begin cooking ground beef

    • Place ground beef into Brava square pan.
    • Break up ground beef into chunks evenly covering bottom of square pan.
    • Slide square pan into top shelf. Press green button to begin cooking.
    • Note: You will stir ground beef after 11 minutes.
    • While ground beef is cooking, prepare aromatics.

    Prepare aromatics

    • In a medium bowl, stir together onions, garlic, tomato paste and 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Set aside.

    Finish cooking ground beef

    • When Brava notifies you, carefully remove square pan.
    • Stir to further break up ground beef.
    • Return square pan to top shelf. Press green button to continue cooking.
    • Note: You will remove ground beef after 3 minutes.

    Cook aromatics

    • When Brava notifies you, carefully remove square pan.
    • Transfer ground beef to plate lined with paper towel. Set aside.
    • Spread aromatics evenly across bottom of square pan.
    • Slide square pan into top shelf. Press green button to continue cooking.
    • Note: You will remove aromatics after 8 minutes.

    Assemble peppers

    • When Brava notifies you, carefully remove square pan.
    • In a large bowl, add aromatics, ground beef, tomatoes, rice, parmesan cheese, basil, parsley, oregano, 1 teaspoon of kosher salt and ½ teaspoon of black pepper. Stir together.
    • Using spoon, fill peppers with filling.
    • Top peppers with mozzarella cheese.

    Prepare pan and begin cooking bell peppers

    • Pour ½ cup of water into bottom of Chef’s Pan.
    • Cover Chef’s Pan with aluminum foil.
    • Slide Chef’s Pan into top shelf. Press green button to continue cooking.
    • Note: You will remove foil after 46 minutes.

  8. 8

    Finish cooking

    • When Brava notifies you, carefully remove Chef's Pan.
    • Remove foil from Chef's Pan.
    • Slide Chef's Pan, uncovered, into top shelf. Press green button to continue cooking.

  9. 9

    Garnish & serve

    • When done, carefully remove Chef’s Pan.
    • Carefully remove peppers from Chef’s Pan and plate on serving platter.
    • Serve immediately.
