Ingredients

  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup cornstarch
  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • ¼ cup plus 1½ teaspoon honey, divided
  • ½ cup walnuts, halved
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • 1½ teaspoons sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds, to garnish

  1. 1

    Prepare shrimp

    • In medium bowl, whisk egg. Set aside.
    • In another bowl, combine cornstarch with a couple pinches of kosher salt and black pepper.
    • Add shrimp to bowl with egg. Toss to coat.
    • Once coated, transfer shrimp to bowl with cornstarch. Toss to coat.
    • Place shrimp on large plate or baking sheet and refrigerate for 20 to 30 minutes.
    • While shrimp are chilling, prepare candied walnuts.

    Prepare candied walnuts

    • Line large plate or baking sheet with parchment paper. Set aside.
    • Add ¼ cup of honey to small saucepan.
    • Bring honey to boil over medium high heat. Reduce heat to medium low and simmer for about 5 minutes, until reduced by half.
    • Once reduced, add walnuts. Stir to coat walnuts. Continue to simmer for about 3 minutes, stirring often, until walnuts are well coated.
    • Transfer walnuts to plate lined with parchment. Do not let walnuts touch. Set aside to cool.

    Cook shrimp

    • Spray Brava glass tray with cooking spray.
    • When shrimp are done chilling, spread shrimp evenly across Zones 1, 2 and 3 of glass tray.
    • Spray top of shrimp with cooking spray.
    • Slide glass tray into top shelf. Press green button to begin cooking.
    • Note: You will flip shrimp after 7 minutes.
    • While shrimp are cooking, make sauce.

    Make sauce and flip shrimp

    • In large bowl, combine mayonnaise, remaining 1½ teaspoons of honey and sweetened condensed milk. Set aside.
    • When Brava notifies you, carefully remove glass tray.
    • Using tongs, flip shrimp.
    • Slide glass tray into top shelf. Press green button to continue cooking.

    Finish and serve

    • When Brava notifies you, carefully remove glass tray.
    • Add shrimp and candied walnuts to mayonnaise mixture. Toss to coat.
    • Plate shrimp.
    • Garnish with sesame seeds.
    • Serve immediately.
