About this Custom Cook

This cilantro lime rice resembles the rice at Chipotle (but in my opinion this is better). I use Jasmine rice in this recipe, but you could also use Basmati or another long-grain white rice.


2 cups Jasmine rice
2 garlic cloves
2 tablespoons butter, melted
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon lime juice (about 1 lime)
4 cilantro stems (about 4" each)
1 1/2 teaspoons kosher salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 bay leaf
Zest of 1 lime
2 1/4 cup chicken stock or water
3 tablespoons chopped cilantro


Step 1: Prep rice

-In fine mesh strainer rinse rice under running water until water runs clear. This should take 2-3 minutes. Drain rice well.
-Smash garlic cloves with back of knife.
-In medium bowl combine stir together rice, butter, oil, garlic, lime juice, cilantro stems, salt, pepper, bay leaf and lime zest.
-Spread rice mixture evenly in Brava Chef’s Pan.
-Measure out 2 ¼ cups chicken stock and pour over rice mixture. Stir gently, making sure all rice grains are submerged.

Step 2: Cook rice

-Slide Chef’s Pan, covered, into top shelf.
-Follow instructions on touchscreen for Cilantro Lime Rice custom cook.

Step 3: Finish & serve

-Carefully remove Chef’s Pan. Remove bay leaf, garlic and cilantro stems from rice.
-Fluff rice with fork.
-Gently stir in chopped cilantro. Serve.
