The Role:

As Brava’s User Insights Associate, you will be on the front lines in engaging with and understanding our users through all stages and aspects of product development and refinement.  You will be an integral part of designing and running our user research and testing program, and of communicating with other Brava teams to ensure that our products are designed for a user experience that is second-to-none.

 

Things you'll own/do:

  

  • Assist in planning project requirements and execution of all user research projects (both quantitative and qualitative) including:
    • beta program roll out
    • hardware and software usability testing
    • longitudinal studies
    • conducting surveys
    • in-person interviews
  • Assume related responsibilities such as:

    • recruitment
    • food fulfillment
    • data analysis and reporting
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (primarily Customer Care, Product, Content, Culinary) to ensure our research and insights are fast, fluid, and scalable at all times -- and to augment user testing program to gather insights for other departments

  • Manage logistics for ongoing user research and testing

  • Become an expert on our users, their behaviors, and their needs

 

Our ideal candidate has:

  • 2+ years project management experience or similar

  • Strong project management and cross-group collaboration skills

  • Ability and desire to wear many hats, learn quickly and change direction when needed. Flexibility, adaptability and communication is key

  • Innate curiosity and ability to self-start in an ambiguous and rapidly-changing startup environment

  • Ability to prioritize time between multiple projects, and be flexible by adapting to changing schedules and different projects

  • Detail-orientation and ability to work fairly independently on a variety of tasks

  • Excellent written and verbal communication/presentation skills for communication with all groups and levels of the organization, technical and non-technical

  • Passion for food, eating, cooking and of course, our users

 

Bonus points for:

  • Experience moderating user studies including usability studies and user interviews

  • Demonstrated success working on B2C products

  • Experience using analytics tools like SQL, Segment and Periscope

  • Solid understanding of web and mobile technologies, service operations at scale, and ability to go deep in technical areas

  • Proficiency in collecting, synthesizing and incorporating user-feedback and mapping it to the overall product vision and roadmap

  • Interest in building/advancing a career in user experience research.
