As Brava’s Embedded Software Support Engineer, Internet of Things, you will play a key role in the development and support of game-changing hardware products. You will lead the company’s efforts to analyze, prioritize and address control software issues involving our advanced IoT devices, including issues facing our end-customers and our internal teams. The role provides opportunities to work with a variety of functional groups, including embedded software engineers, electronics design and quality engineers, laboratory technicians, and customer care specialists. You will:
Help determine the root cause of individual unit failures most often attributed to software.
Work with developers to create test plans.
Extract software components and develop unit tests.
Create diagnostics to speed up return item failure analysis and assist with customer support.
Analyze failure statistics to expose broad design problems.
Understanding of micro-controllers and associated digitally connected devices.
Ability to read and modify code written in C
Ability to analyze signals using an oscilloscope
Ability to induce specific sensor measurements and trace software reaction to those measurements
Ability to trace software’s ability to drive hardware
Ability to parse and understand system-generated data files
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering or similar and 1+ years of relevant experience
