Detailed responsibilities:

  • Scale our development, production, and customer support processes

  • Quickly diagnose issues with electronic circuitry

  • Develop and document efficient methods to allow front-line support technicians to diagnose and repair existing circuitry

  • Develop test fixtures and software to increase assembly line and support efficiency

  • Participate in the product debugging process

  • Collect data and analyze data from electronic subsystems to help with the design of new circuitry

  • Make recommendations for design improvements, especially design changes that enhance supportability


Candidate skill requirements:

  • BS degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering, Computer System Engineering or equivalent industry experience

  • 5+ years of relevant industry experience in quality engineering

  • Excellent electronic diagnostic and analysis skills

  • Strong understanding of analog circuitry, in particular power control circuitry

  • Strong understanding of basic digital circuitry, e.g. 74xx series components, I2C, SPI, UART devices, and other communication circuitry

  • Excellent communication and documentation skills

  • Ability to work with advanced electronic tools

  • Excellent manual electronics repair skill with the ability to work with small components including surface mount technology

  • Ability to work with tools associated with support ticket management

  • Ability to work with and add content to support knowledge base tools

  • Comfortable working with high-power and high-voltage electronics

  • Basic programming skills in C/Python


Bonus points for:

  • Experience with deployment of large numbers of IoT devices

  • Experience organizing and managing a help desk

  • Experience with UL and other certification approval

  • Knowledge of home electrical code standards

  • Experience with electronics production line processes

  • Understanding of TCP/IP and WiFi communication protocols

  • Knowledge of basic physics and statistics
