The role:

An exciting opportunity to create, refine and perfect the user-interface electronics for a next-generation smart cooking machine. The product employs several novel solutions to push the envelope of power, precision and performance to achieve unprecedented cooking results in record time.  Your task will be to refine, support and maintain PCB designs through regulatory certification, DFM optimization and mass-production phases.  The scope of this role involves development using high-integration components such as a multi-core ARM system-on-chip, DDR memory and high-speed buses including MIPI DSI and CSI, so familiarity with these technologies is an important requirement.  You will be responsible for analyzing and debugging existing designs and must demonstrate the ability to efficiently diagnose issues both in a lab environment as well as from end user feedback. You also will be responsible for guiding the design and diagnostic work of other electrical engineers focusing on the power and sensing applications.  We have a highly-integrated team and you will work closely with both software and mechanical engineers to develop the right solution to take our prototypes to mass production in a fast-paced, close-knit and collaborative environment.


Things you’ll own/do:

  • PCB design optimization for DFM, regulatory and mass production

  • Working with external vendors, partners and contract manufacturers

  • Analyzing board-level issues and designing solutions

  • Managing new PCBA spins


Our ideal candidate has:

  • BS degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering or equivalent industry experience

  • High-speed differential signal design and debugging experience (LVDS, MIPI etc.)

  • 5+ years of relevant industry experience in consumer electronics

  • Strong communication and reasoning skills


Bonus points for:

  • MS or PhD in EE, Computer Engineering or similar

  • Experience working with vendors in Asia

  • Experience with regulatory certification

  • RF/antenna design, debugging and regulatory approval experience

  • Experience supporting system bring-up and debugging exercises, including working with embedded software team on these issues

  • Experience with firmware development
